We believe in the Triune God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – who has revealed Himself to us in the Holy Scriptures.
We believe that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God and the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
We believe that the three Ecumenical Creeds (the Apostles’, the Nicene, and the Athanasian Creeds) and the Confessions of the Lutheran Church as contained in the Book of Concord are faithful testimonies to the truth of the Holy Scriptures.
We believe that God the Father Almighty is the Maker and Preserver of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
We believe that in spite of our sinful, human rebellion against Him, God did not give up on the human race but sent His Son, Jesus, into our world to give His life for us so that through faith in Him we can receive forgiveness of our sins and eternal life.
We believe that the Holy Spirit works through the Word of God and the Sacraments to call, gather, enlighten and sanctify us and bring us back into a right relationship with God.
We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ is the redeemed People of God who have been restored into a right relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
We believe that the People of God who are the Church have been called by God to bring the Good News of salvation and of God’s love to the people of this time and place through the words we speak and the lives we live.
We believe that since Jesus has risen from the dead as what St. Paul calls “the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep” we can confidently “look for the resurrection of the body and the life of the world to come”.
